Duniya Goal Hai
Does anyone besides me think that "Duniya Goal Hai" is the funniest Indian show on TV... ever?
No one can plan such comedy, man... the punch lines are just too spontaneous, reminds me of Coupling.... these dudes (Ranvir, Vinay, and the Australian (?) guy whose name I can't recall at the moment) have me in splits for all of 30 minutes...
God! finally a break from commercialised template humor that apparently gets ratings for the media industry because there is a fool born every second who'd think shit like "Hum Paanch" is comedy!
I think I am gonna put up excerpts... ROTFLMAO...

does your office still start at six? how do you find time to watch all this? what channel is this show on? never herad of it..i personally think the 'Semi Garewal show' on MTV is hilarious!
no, i am going in the evenings now... long story.. i get back at 11:00... the show's at 11:30 pm...
but the last few episodes have been pretty dull... was better earlier...
i'm half way thru "A Suitable Boy"..never thought this day would come..thank you. love the book..

So when do you land? I reach Bangalore on the 9th morning. Can't make it earlier...my sister's holidays are short...(blah blah).
Semi Girebaal is the best thing MTV's done in the last five years. I think it's probably (going by what I see on it when channel-surfing) the only good thing on it now.
those two might be idiots, but it could be worse. They could have inflicted Mandira Bedi on us again.

Actually I don't think they are idiots. Ranvir and Vinay were excellent on Channel V in the 90s. I think they need help from a writer, maybe.
Well, like I said before its not been as funny as it was when i wrote the post...
look... i don't forgive goofy just like that.. and those guys are goofy... but earlier on they had this deadpan way of cracking really weird or outrageous or both.. jokes, which had us (me and my brother... both of us have the same sense of humour) in splits...
the good part was that these chaps were hosting a show rather than "acting" the part like Bhogle...
now, for whatever reasons there aren't any jokes... maybe they got scared after bad reviews from whereever... so now its 2 guys neither acting nor being natural...
I have not actually seen Semi Girebal... I hate all the Cyruses
i like them all, especially Sahukar. He reminds me a lot of Salil.

Cyrus Broacha is way part his prime. Anyone remember the pre-Bakra golden age? MTV True Lies, Loveline etc? Or even older...MTV-U. That was the first time I heard about the Stephen's-Hindu "rivalry". And I loved his tabla ad where he says a tabla is like a woman.
Semi Girebaal is a decent idea, but it should go on for only 10 mins, and not half an hour.
what plan's on accomodation? i could look up ymca or something for you..you should try and get salil to come to blore too. i need to be a good host to him..was a terrible one the last time. i read somewhere that he's got a bike now..
